Practice Policies
Psychotherapy services are provided by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in accordance with California law and regulations of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Viewing this website or contacting the practice does not establish a therapist–client relationship. Services begin only after completion of intake documentation and mutual agreement to treatment.
Location Requirement (Telehealth)
Services are available only to clients who are physically located in California at the time of each session. Telehealth services are provided pursuant to California law and Board of Behavioral Sciences regulations. Client location will be verified at the start of each telehealth appointment. Temporary travel outside California may limit or prevent continuation of services due to jurisdictional restrictions. Services cannot be provided to clients located outside the United States. Telehealth may be discontinued if clinical appropriateness or legal compliance cannot be maintained.
Fees
All fees, payment policies, and cancellation terms must be reviewed and agreed to prior to the first session. Clients are financially responsible for services rendered. Current fees and booking info can be found here.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
You may ask your provider, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Be sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
Clinical Assessment & Treatment
The first appointment includes review of practice policies, privacy practices, and a clinical assessment. In some cases, assessment may extend beyond one session before treatment planning is finalized. The duration, frequency, and modality of treatment vary depending on presenting concerns and clinical judgment. Psychotherapy involves both benefits and risks, and specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
Retreats & Group Services
Participation in retreats, intensives, or group services requires signing a separate Group Informed Consent Agreement. While the therapist is legally obligated to maintain confidentiality under California law, confidentiality among group participants cannot be guaranteed. Retreats may include light to moderate physical activity. Participants must be physically able to engage in stated activities and are responsible for consulting their physician regarding medical conditions or limitations.
Complete policies, including telehealth standards, privacy practices, limits of confidentiality, and retreat disclosures will be reviewed at the clinical intake or at the start of a weekend event. This practice does not provide 24-hour crisis services or emergency response. In the event of a psychiatric or medical emergency, clients must call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
